World War II
September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945. World War II holds a sad position in all of America’s war efforts in that it was the biggest and most deadly conflict in the history of the world.
The U.S. was thrust into the war after a surprise Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. That same day, Germany declared war on the U.S. For the nearly four years American servicemen fought and died in Europe and in the far away Pacific ocean and islands.
Our collections from this war include weapons, uniforms, photographs, flags and much more.
